This building is designed by Govaert & Vanhoutte architects and was later acquired by Bank J. Van Breda & C°. We were asked to take over the building site after the shell was completed. For this central location, the client wants a design that both emphasizes the contemporary architecture and the openness of its floors.
The outer shell consists of concrete and glass cladding. Floor-to-roof windows give the building an open and light appearance. There’s an underground parking space and an auditorium. The ramp for it serves both to provide access and natural light for the event space.
The ground floor is accessible to the public and hosts 7 meeting rooms designed as transparent boxes and a large reception area with a waiting area. The first floor consists of an open plan with a landscape office, a lounge area and a refectory; all oriented towards the large terrace, which opens up to the garden. The second floor has a large internal meeting room and some more informal office functions.
The HVAC installation is up-to-date and makes for a cost efficient building.
